MONSTER JAM

DEMOLITION DERBY

TORONTO, ONTARIO

January 17th & 18th, 2009

In front over 35,000 cheering fans, Ron McClung, Nicole Turner and Chris Colucci each walked away with one of the most coveted titles in Canadian demolition derby.....Monster Jam Feature Event Winner.

On Saturday January 17th both the Straight Stock and 4 Cylinder competitors represented their sport at the USHRA Monster Jam pit party, welcoming spectators and signing autographs for fans, but when the show began it was all business.

After some great Monster Truck action the Straight Stock competitors took to the arena floor while the 4 Cylinder cars waited on the perimeter.

After some vicious derby action it was Ron McClung taking the win over Chris Mills and Glenn Hardy. 

The 4 Cyilnder competitors took to the track right afterwards, which was just as rough, if not a rougher battle.  At one point the race had to be stopped due to a rollover, but it quickly resumed.  As it got down to the final 2 cars Nicole Turner hammered Mitch Clarkson, resulting in Clarkson's car bursting into flames, and Turner being awarded the victory.

On Sunday, despite the terrible weather, it was again a full field of drivers and spectators, this time for the Pro Modified Series. 

Once the flag dropped there was not wasting time as the drivers got down to business.  With hardcore drivers like Cory Morrison, Jeff Dawson, Dustin Ingram, John Chartrand and Ryan Hess, there was no mercy for anyone on the track.

When the dust settled it only Don Turner and Chris Colucci remained, and both drivers looked like they wanted the win.  After some devastating nose-to-nose shots the driveshaft on Turner's wagon let go, and the well deserved victory was awarded to Colucci.

Both North Star and Ontario Demolition Derby would like to thank all the drivers and crew members who participated in this great event.
